PORK IS NOW AVAILABLE!
We just got our most recent group of hogs back from the butcher, and man does the meat look great! We are currently the only small farm in Northern Virginia (that we know of) offering pork from pigs raised on a diet of certified organic, non-GMO, non-soy feed (as well as rotational woodlot ‘grazing’)! We feel that there are lots of reasons why this is the right choice, not the least of which being that we wouldn’t want pesticides, GMOs, or soy in our food, so why should we feed it to the animals we eat?
American Guinea Hog meat is marbled, and much darker than the pork most people are accustomed to. The fat is flavorful, and the meat melts in your mouth. The chops are much smaller than conventional hogs’ chops, but just have a look at why we think you’ll like them much better! We have whole, half, and select cuts available. Our hogs average ~80-100lbs of meat per whole hog, or ~40-50lbs per half hog. This gourmet, organically-fed, pasture- and woodlot-raised pork is available from the farm and at our farmers’ market booth, starting this year.
