Strawberry Jam – This jam is made from berries from C. Hess Orchard, another vendor at the Archwood Green Barns Farmers’ Market in The Plains, VA. This one is made the old fashioned way – just berries and organic cane sugar, cooked low and slow to caramelize the juices from the berries with the sugar. Great on a biscuit or over ice cream!
Wild Wineberry Jam – This jam is made with only the wild berries (grown here on the farm), lemon juice, and organic sugar.
Wild Black Raspberry Jam – This jam is made with only the wild berries (grown here on the farm), lemon juice, and organic sugar.
Wild Blackberry Jam – This jam is made with only the wild berries (grown here on the farm), lemon juice, and organic sugar.
Autumnberry Jelly – The autumnberries ripen in, you guessed it, Autumn! This jelly is high in lycopene, and has a sweet/tart flavor. For this, we use autumnberry juice, sugar, and pectin. Look for this jelly starting in September/October, depending on how early the berries ripen.
COMING SOON FOR THIS YEAR: Apple Butter – We make an old Amish recipe Apple Butter, using apples from local orchards, blackstrap molasses, and spices. We cook it low and slow, and we’ve been told it’s some of the best around! Look for apple butter starting in October, once some of the better applesauce varieties of apples start to ripen.
