Welcome to 2017! Ok, I’m a little late… please forgive me! I’ve been planning our wedding, planning our farm season, and even working on the next chapter of our farm story (but that’s for another time).
We are slowly getting back in the swing of things… Annabelle, our Jersey cow, is due any day now!
Poor Annabelle – she looks like she’s going to pop!
Our first meat chicks will come the first week of March, piglets will start being born mid-March, baby goats should start arriving in April, and our market season starts at the beginning of May. We have some young rabbits too – we’re testing them out to see if they will be a good option to start offering rabbit meat.
One of our ‘test batch’ of rabbits
For now, we do have some chicken and pork available, and the hens have just started laying again after some well-deserved time off to rest and rejuvenate. Please contact us if you’d like to come by the farm and pick anything up between now and when the market starts.
As always, we love our customers, and would be happy to have you out to visit the farm. I’d recommend waiting until April – that’s when the weather will be nicer, and all the baby animals will be here to see and play with. Just send us a message and we’d be happy to have you. You are, of course, welcome to come before then – but the best farm tours are the ones with spring babies!
Remember these cutie butts from last spring?! I can’t wait!
Look for some new, exciting things coming this year – we’re starting a youtube channel, planting a big garden (of veggies and flowers!) and we’ve started working on blog posts that will come out several times a week. What would you like to hear more about? Possible topics include:
processing on the farm
recipes using our products
homesteading topics (hunting, canning, dehydrating…)
Leave some comments here or on our Facebook page and we will use them to help steer our future posts!
